Responsible for journalistic-editorial content according to Section 18(2) MStV

Andreas Flach

As a service provider, we are responsible for our own content on these pages under the general laws (Section 7(1) DDG). Under Sections 8 to 10 DDG, however, we are not obliged to monitor transmitted or stored third-party information or to investigate circumstances that indicate illegal activity.

An obligation to remove or block unlawful third-party information arises only from the point at which we receive specific notice of it. We remove identified infringements without undue delay.

Liability for external links

Our pages link in some places to third-party offerings whose content we cannot influence. Responsibility for that content lies solely with the respective provider. We review links carefully at the time of inclusion; continuous monitoring without specific grounds is not reasonable.

If we become aware of an infringement, we will remove the relevant link without undue delay.

Copyright

All texts, images, graphics and layouts published on this website are protected by copyright unless explicitly indicated otherwise. Any reproduction, modification, distribution or commercial use beyond the private sphere requires our prior written consent.

Where third-party content is used, the respective copyright is observed and the sources are credited. If you nevertheless become aware of a copyright infringement, please let us know — we will review the case and remove the content concerned without undue delay if necessary.

Right to lodge a complaint

No analytics, tracking or marketing tools are used on this website. There is no statistical evaluation of your browsing behaviour.

Details of the technically necessary storage technologies in use can be found in the following sections of this privacy policy.

2. Hosting

What this is about

We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with applicable data protection law, in particular the GDPR and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

This privacy policy explains what data is collected when you visit this website, what we use it for, to whom it may be passed on, and what rights you have.

Note: Data transmission over the internet (for example by email) can in principle exhibit security gaps. Complete protection against unauthorised third-party access cannot be guaranteed outside our sphere of control.

Controller

The party responsible for data processing on this website is:

ND-DESIGN.WORKS GmbH
ANDREAS FLACH
HEAD OF DESIGN

Rhein-Wied-Str. 5
56587 Oberhonnefeld-Gierend
Germany

Phone: +49 151 2021 1978
Email: nd@nd-design.works
Website: ND-DESIGN.WORKS

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.

Withdrawal of consent

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. An informal notification by email is sufficient. The lawfulness of the processing carried out prior to withdrawal remains unaffected.

Right to object to the collection of data in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)

IF THE PROCESSING OF DATA IS CARRIED OUT ON THE BASIS OF ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA AT ANY TIME ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF ASSERTING, EXERCISING OR DEFENDING LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(1) GDPR).

Where the processing of your data is based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing. Where data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you may object at any time without giving reasons — however, we do not engage in direct marketing.

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority

You have the right at any time to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). For our registered office, the competent authority is the Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Rheinland-Pfalz (lfd.rlp.de).

Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)

Where we process data automatically on the basis of your consent or for the performance of a contract, you have the right to receive that data, or to have it transferred to a third party, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.

SSL/TLS encryption

This website is accessible exclusively via HTTPS. Transmission between your browser and our server is SSL/TLS-encrypted. You can recognise this by the lock symbol in your browser and by the https:// prefix in the address bar.

When encryption is active, third parties cannot read the contents of your requests.

Information, correction, erasure

You have the right at any time, free of charge, to information about your personal data stored by us, its origin, recipients and the purpose of processing (Art. 15 GDPR), as well as to correction (Art. 16) and erasure (Art. 17). Please contact us informally by email or by post.

Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. This right applies in particular in the following cases:

  • If you dispute the accuracy of the personal data we hold, processing may be restricted for the duration of the verification.
  • If processing has taken place unlawfully, you may request restriction instead of erasure.
  • If we no longer need the data but you require it for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, you may request restriction instead of erasure.
  • If you have objected under Art. 21(1) GDPR, processing is suspended until it is determined whose interests prevail.

Where processing is restricted, the data — apart from its storage — may only be processed with your consent, for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, for the protection of others, or for reasons of important public interest of the EU or a Member State.

4. Data collection on this website

Cookies

This website uses no tracking, analytics or marketing cookies and does not integrate any external tracking services. We only use technically necessary local browser storage (Local Storage) or storage triggered by you.

Specifically, the following local entries are stored in your browser as soon as you trigger the respective function: nd-theme (theme preference), nd-cookie-info-dismissed-v2 (acknowledgement of the cookie notice), preferredLocale (language preference). The website runtime may additionally read existing browser cookies but does not set any in the production build.

Storage takes place locally on your device. No transfer to third parties takes place. You can delete these entries at any time via your browser settings or by clearing the local website storage for this domain.

This website does not set any cookies or comparable technologies for advertising, tracking or analytics purposes. Beyond the local browser entries described in section 4, no information is stored on your device.

The legal basis for storing and accessing this information is Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG, as the storage is necessary to provide the website functions requested by you.

Where personal data is processed in this context, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the user-friendly, stable and data-minimising provision of the website.

Data minimisation

We deliberately do not use cookie consent managers, tracking frameworks or third-party scripts. Because we do not employ any consent-requiring technologies, consent management is not necessary.

Apart from the technically necessary processing by our hosting provider (see section 2), no personal data is transferred to third parties.

If you have dismissed our cookie notice banner, this acknowledgement is stored as a local entry in your browser (Local Storage, key nd-cookie-info-dismissed-v2). You can delete this entry at any time via your browser settings.

Server log files

Each time a page is requested, our hosting provider Hetzner Online GmbH stores technically necessary access data in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. A data processing agreement (DPA) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hetzner Online GmbH. The following data is recorded in particular:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL

  • IP address and host name of the accessing computer
  • Date and time of the request as well as the requested URL and referrer URL
  • IP address

This data may contain personal references but is not evaluated for the purpose of identifying individual visitors and is not merged with other data sources. The log files are regularly and automatically overwritten in accordance with our hoster's specifications.

Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure, stable and technically error-free provision of the website.

Contact form

Note: This website does not contain a contact form. Please contact us by email or phone (see imprint).

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or its initiation; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Your data will be deleted as soon as the processing purpose ceases to apply and provided no statutory retention or evidentiary obligations conflict.

The data you enter into the contact form remains with us until you ask us to delete it, until you withdraw your consent to storage, or until the purpose of the data storage ceases to apply (e.g. once your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions — in particular retention periods — remain unaffected.

Contact by email or phone

If you contact us by email or phone, we process the information you provide (name, contact details and the content of your enquiry) solely for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass this data on to third parties without your express consent.

We retain your information for as long as is necessary to respond to your enquiry or as required by statutory retention obligations.

Functions we deliberately do not offer

This website deliberately does not offer contact forms, comment functions, login areas, newsletter sign-ups or social media embeds. Neither comments, IP addresses nor profile pictures of visitors are processed, and no newsletter mailing takes place.

Should you decide to introduce any of these functions at a later point in time, we will update this privacy policy accordingly before activating the function.

Legal basis
The comments are stored on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw consent you have given at any time. An informal notification to us by email is sufficient. The lawfulness of data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

5. Fonts

Locally embedded fonts

We use the fonts Inter and DM Sans. Both are delivered exclusively from our own hosting. No connection to Google Fonts or other external font providers is established when the website is loaded; in particular, your IP address is not transmitted to third parties.

The fonts are served directly from our hosting at Hetzner. External font services are not contacted.

If your browser does not support one of these font packages, it will use a system default font.
